Mithra Cave Cappadocia

Mithra Cave Cappadocia is a collection of renovated residences in the old upper part of Göreme village. During the renovation our main purpose was to keep the original characteristics of the local architecture while adding, with harmony, modern features.
Our rooms are made into the caves of Cappadocia with our guests comfort in mind. Since before Hitities, locals of this region have been living in the caves, and local stone houses. At Mithra Cave, our purpose is to offer the best stay possible to our guests who are coming from all over the world. We are located in the heart of Cappadocia, in Göreme Village, which is centrally located in the Goreme National Park.

The hotel is situated in the heart of Cappadocia, just a 5 minute walk from the town of Göreme. This authentic cave hotel combines modern comfort and an authentic living experience from ancient times. The hotel has amazing views of the surrounding villages and valleys and is approx. 1 hour drive from Nevsehir Airport.

We offer a variety of services to our guests:

Pick-up from Göreme Bus Station: If you are arriving to Cappadocia by bus, when you get to Goreme Bus Station, please ask the Information Center to call us. We will than pick you up with pleasure. This is a free service offered by our hotel. Attention: When you buy your bus ticket to Goreme, please make sure your bus ticket shows Göreme as destination, and do not get off the bus in Nevsehir City (unless you are asked to change busses).

Airport Shuttle: There are two airports in Cappadocia; Kayseri Airport (ASR) and Nevsehir Airport (NAV). Coming from Kayseri takes about 1 hour and from Nevsehir about 45 minutes to Mithra Cave Cappadoica. Shuttle Bus service to Mithra Cave from both Nevsehir and Kayseri Airports exist for all domestic flights. The rate of this service is 25 Turkish Liras per person and per way. The shuttle service is from airport to hotel and vice verse. For arrivals, your driver will be waiting for you at the exit gate of the airport, holding a sign bearing your name. Even if your flight is delayed, it will be waiting for you.  

FREE Wi-Fi Access: We offer free wi-fi access in our common areas/ terraces and in guest rooms. Please note that wi-fi signal could be weak in some rooms due to thick walls of cave rooms.

Television: All rooms at Mithra Cave Hotel have flat screen TV’s with channels in a variety of languages.

Hot-Air Ballooning
Cappadocia is known around the world as one of the best place to fly with hot air balloons. The spectacular and surrealistic landscapes combined with the excellent flying conditions allow the balloons to gently drift over and between fairy chimneys; pigeon houses, orchards and vineyards; through impressive valleys; and then float up over rippled ravines for breathtaking views over the region.

Daily Cappadocia Tours
Cappadocia is the ancient and modern name of a remarkable region of Central Anatolia. It is a geological wonderland. There is two main tours in Cappadocia: Red and Green tours. The Red tour will take you to the North part of Cappadocia. The main stops are Göreme Open Air Museum, Avanos and Ürgüp. The Green tour will take you to the South part of Cappadocia. The main stops are Derinkuyu Underground City, Ilhara Valley and Selime Monastery.

Hiking in Göreme National Park is the closest thing you can do to walking on the moon. The amazing varity of land forms such as fairy chimneys and eroded bedrocks are typical promises of Cappadocia region that continue blowing of our visitors minds. We provide to all our guests a hiking map of the Göreme National Park. With it, you will easily see that we are surrounded by many valleys, that all are within walking distance from our hotel. If you are interested in hiking around the National Park, our receptionists will be happy to provide you advices and directions.

Horse-back Riding
We highly recommend prior experience if you are thinking to go on a horse riding asit is an off-road free ride and is not offered within the horse ranch. The ride will take you to Rose, Red and Love Valley and Çavusin old town. For your information, Cappadocia means the “land of beautiful horses” in ancient Persian language, and it is derived from the name of our region which was Katpatuka.

Whirling Dervish Ceremony
If you are interested in Sufism and want to see a Sema Ceremony at some point in Turkey, the ceremony offered at Saruhan Caravanserai in Cappadocia is one of the best. It is located in Avanos town, in an old renovated Caravanserai through which the ancient Silk Road was passing. It used to be one of the camel-stops separated by 80 km for travelling businessmen on a long journey to reach Istanbul and the Grand Bazaar.

Jeep Safari
This adventurous activity will take you, twice a day ( morning or sunset time), to Pigeon Valley, Ibrahimpasha village, Ortahisar, to Pancarlik and Uzengi Valleys, Mustafapasha old greek town and Love Valley. You will also have a small picnic in the valley.
