Medhufushi Island Resort - South Male Atoll

Medhufushi Island Resort is a haven of peace and relaxation. An air of tranquillity pervades the idyllic island which is adorned with shady coconut trees and tropical flowers.
Surrounding the island is a spectacular lagoon in shades of turquoise and shimmering azure blue. If you want to get away from it all and experience affordable, laid-back luxury at a Maldives resort, you can’t find anywhere better than Medhufushi Island Resort.

The Medhufushi is set on the natural Meemu Atoll, surrounded by white beaches, tropical palms, and mangroves. The resort island is approx. 40 mins from Malé Airport by seaplane (approx. 130kms).

The 112 spacious villas are spread across 10 hectares of paradise. Choose between a selection of four villa categories, located either on the beach or suspended over the lagoon. Each villa is designed with a Maldivian flavour and reflects the natural shades and hues of nature. Soft tones and natural materials including wood, coconut thatch and stone come together in harmony to create your comfortable and secluded home-from-home.

The private sundecks feature a large swing chair big enough for two, known as ‘an udoli’, built in traditional Maldivian style. The beach villas are furnished with four-poster beds with romantic white drapes while the beds in the water villas are placed in prime position to admire the view of the sea. In the beach villas, the large semi-open air bathrooms include showers shaded by a wishing-well-style roof and some have a standalone bathtub, while the water villas also have freestanding bathtubs with unbeatable ocean views.

Each villa is equipped with king-size or twin beds, air-conditioning, flat screen TV, DVD player, IDD telephone, tea and coffee-making facilities, minibar, hairdryer and in-room safe.

The Werner Lau Diving Centre team is waiting to greet you at Medhufushi Island Resort. Scuba diving in Meemu Atoll is hard to beat. While there’s no house reef there are a host of dive sites in the surrounding area to explore. The majority of the dive sites within the atoll are easy to dive because they are protected from very strong currents by the coral formations. Here you can discover stunning coral gardens, reef fish, small sharks and some beautiful macrolife. There’s also a channel dive in the vicinity available for exploration and on the outer reefs where the current is stronger you can discover reef sharks, mantas and even occasional whale sharks.

The spectacular infinity-edge pool adjacent to the lagoon is one of the pride and glories of Medhufushi. From the right angle you can catch the reflection of the striking over-water pyramids on its glassy surface. Cool off from the tropical sun or enjoying basking in the sun’s rays adjacent to it. Poolside service is available throughout the day.
